The working marriage of traditional accounting concepts, and thinking that embodies and harnesses the best of today's technology, is the essence of CCAS's Light software. It addresses the diverse accounting requirements of companies, and government contractors in particular, by processing transactions from a functional viewpoint...through "Cycles", as we call them.

Light adapts to your accounting requirements, however diverse they might be. Should a Job Costing, Government Contracts , or any unique accounting or reporting requirement develop, Light will rise to the occasion with ease. By design, the potential is already "there".

For example, a software development firm that never had to be concerned with government contracts accounting requirements - but that was just awarded a government contract - can have a complete (DCAA acceptable) government contracts job cost accounting system up-and-running with a couple of mouse clicks. Overnight. That afternoon. Now.

To illustrate further, with Light you will not need to go into separate Job Cost or Accounts Payable "modules" to record transactions that are associated with that output. You will simply enter cash transactions in the "Cash Cycle" and vendor, employee or credit card transactions in the "Acquisitions Cycle". Your focus will be on the functional operation, instead of the output. Job Cost and Accounts Payable output is immediately available, of course, but you won't need to become skilled in the specific requirements or details of different "modules". How does this work?

At the core of Light is the General Ledger Accounts "Cycle". All Job Cost, Accounts Receivable or Payable, Payroll and Inventory output has, at its core, individual entries in the general ledger. In Light's proprietary accounting model, each general ledger account is a "super" account (Salaries Expense, for example). Each account will have classifications associated with it: Income Statement; Cost of Sales, in this example. The account may also have special properties (Labor; Direct - On-Site), and the user may determine the actions that may be "applied" to the account. These actions are the "methods" associated with each of Light2's "Cycles".

So Light's power is centrally located: straight-forward and clear. The needs of simple and complex operations are satisfied at once. And because changing an account's properties or methods never alters the account's transactions, you have truly flexible accounting and reporting power at your immediate disposal!

And there's more. We sense that Communication is the primary driver of successful operations. With this in mind, Light screens offer direct and immediate communication of all information relative to the matter at hand. Any question you might ask of any account or transaction is immediately available. No searching for the right menu choice. Again, it's right there in front of you. As a result, Light's audit trails are unsurpassed.
